Jon Pertwee in , with Pertwee's Progress radio co-star Kirk Stevens.. Pertwee was an officer in the Royal Navy, working in naval intelligence during the Second World was a crew member of HMS Hood and was transferred off the ship shortly before it was sunk, losing all but three men. Pertwee enrolled in RADA, but was expelled for, as he put it, "lack of seriousness.". Pertwee played the lead in the last segment of the film as Paul Henderson, an arrogant horror film star who meets his doom thanks to a genuine vampire cloak. In Pertwee endorsed the Co-op's Baking Your Cake and Eating It, a recipe book written by Sarah Charles.[21] It has been given the unofficial title of The Jon Pertwee Recipe Book.

John Devon Roland Pertwee (7 July – 20 May ), known professionally as Jon Pertwee, was an English actor, entertainer and cabaret performer. He kind of represents the ones who are doing brave things despite being scared, those who are thankful for the good things in life, those who are loyal to their family, friends and their home turf.

"Carnival of Monsters" is an odd little story, and probably not the best candidate to be the second Third Doctor (Jon Pertwee) story released on DVD. But the "Restoration Team" has done a rather good job on the disc, as with all "Doctor Who" discs, so that even the less-than-outstanding stories are still worth the purchase s: Starring: Jon Pertwee, Peter Davison, Caroline John, et al. Directed by: Timothy Combe, Michael E Briant and Pennant Roberts Doctor Who: The Three Doctors.
